TATTOO NEEDLES
The diameter of the tattoo needle types can be found by looking at the first two numbers of the package. The 4 most common averages are # 12 # 10, # 8 and # 6. 12 is 0.35 mm. 10 is 0.30 mm. 8 is 025mm, 6 is 0.20mm. 12 is 0.35 mm.
The second double digit indicates the number of needles. For example, a needle with the number 1207RL, 7 indicates the number of needles. So the 1207RL needle will have 7 needles soldered to the tip of the bar.
Types of tattoo needles
RL needles or round liner needles grouped together in a tight circular formation. RS or round shaders are grouped together in a free circular formation. F or flat are grouped together in a line. M1 or Magnum needles are grouped into two rows of needles in a weaving formation. M1 or Magnum needles are grouped into two rows of needles in a loose weaving formation. The M2 or Magnum needles are grouped into two rows of needles in a tight weaving formation.
